TestTool Timings
How the TestTool works on a deep level
Neighbour Mode Timing
Selecting an operator or band will automatically restart the modem. Then, it waits up to 3 minutes for cells to appear. If, after 3 mins, no cells appear, modem reboots and we continue to wait.
Full Scan Timing
First choose Op A. Then choose RAW. Wait up to 3 mins [AUTOSURVEY_NEIGHBOUR_WAIT_TIME_S] for cells to appear. If cells do not appear in this time period, proceed to scan ALL bands.
If cells do appear in this time period, then analyse the cells that appear in the first 10 samples.
Every 3 seconds the TT will show a new selection of cells. We save 10 of these samples. We then look at the 10th sample and note the serving (s) cell.
If the serving cell is B7
, the following filtered scans will be only all the lower bands, i.e. B1
, B3
, B8
, B20
, B28
. Another example: The serving cell in RAW mode is found to be B3
. Then we only need to scan B8
, B20
and B28
.
B8 turn off
B8 will be turn off of on in a #define in the code. Default: B8 off [AUTOSURVEY_INCLUDE_BAND8] This will speed up scans, and as of today, B8 is not used for 4G(will probabay change in near future)
Spectrum timing
On the Full scan we choose the first band, choose peak hold, wait 10s [AUTOSURVEY_SPECTRUM_HOLD_TIME_S] and then save. We then move to next band and so on.
